I just finished my 1L year at a prominent national law school. (If you can't figure out which one from the title of this blog, then you need to watch a lot more college sports.) Summer break began May 11, and both of my summer jobs kicked in at the end of May. For my full-time job, I am working as a Law Clerk in the public defender's office for the largest county in a major metropolitan area. I also have a second part-time (emphasis on "part") job as a research assistant for a professor. The first job is all about the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments. The second job (so far) is all about the First Amendment. In other words, my entire professional life revolves around a few dozen words written just over 200 years ago.
I went to college in Boston. Then I moved to Chicago and worked in management consulting. Then I moved to Japan and taught English. I still speak a little Nihongo, but it's fading fast.
I have a variety of interests, but this summer I'm trying to develop two new ones: blogging and fishing. If I'm successful at even one of them, I'll call it a victory.
